At first, did you set python2 at Setenv.py?

In RedHat, python2.2 is named as python2.

For installation of Numerical python,
I installed it from
http://sham.phys.sci.osaka-u.ac.jp/~kkr/TARS/XtalEditHome/download/NuemericalPython/Numeric-22.0
. But it was not so difficult.

I hope to know your impression on XtalEdit...
